We are
very pleased to announce our NEW Design Team!

I can't remember a time when I
wasn't taking pictures and putting them into albums. Lately,
though, I'd say scrapping has become more of an obsession than
a hobby. I have two beautiful kids and the opportunity to stay
at home with them. I never thought I'd love "not working" so
much but It's an amazing experience and it does give me time
to scrap and quilt and write. My style is pretty simple
and I like to showcase just one or two photos (especially
since my husband bought me a digital SLR camera and my
photography has greatly improved). I usually start with a
photo that I love and let the ideas start forming in my head
(as I'm driving or changing diapers or nursing in the middle
of the night) so by the time I get to sit down and scrap I
have a good idea of what a page will look like. I print all my
own photos because I am too impatient for even one-hour photo
processing and I love using digital elements in my layouts but
don't think I could ever give up using actual paper and
embellishments (besides, if I did, what would I do with all my
Prima flowers?!?!).

As a working mom of 2 small
children, I don’t get much time
to scrapbook. Lately when I do, I find myself focusing on
the ‘small’, everyday moments, instead of just the ‘big’
events, like the holidays and vacations. I have always been
very interested in ‘the details’ and have a feeling that
when my kids are grown, that is what they will want to know
about, too. My style is clean and simple. I usually like to
let the photos and the story do the work. I am addicted to
patterned paper, you can never have enough! I usually sew
on my pages, both with machine and by hand, and tend to get
‘attached’ to certain products. Right now it’s really small
letter stickers and office-y looking journal spots. I’m
always on the lookout for some new product to love! In
addition to scrapbooking, I like to make cards. I love
photography and I'm still in the process of learning how to
use my new Nikon D80 and Photoshop. I'm also very interested
in art, design and baking.

What is
a design team you ask?
A design team is made up of scrappers like you who want to
play with the newest products. Each month our design team
members will pick up their monthly design kit and be asked to
design layouts, cards, mini albums, etc. with the enclosed
products. You may add other products if you desire, but they
must be products that are carried by Scrappers Cove. The kits
will be ready for pick up after the 15th of the month and are
due back by the 1st of the next month. Your design will be on
display at Scrappers Cove and on our website for approximately
one month and then will be returned to you to keep. Your name
will be displayed under/near your work and on our website.
Submit layout or altered art details, including products used
and any special techniques. You may be asked for input on
product selection.
The design
team term will be for 6 months (October through March), at
which time we will announce a new design team contest.
Designers
are expected to complete projects and maintain the same level
of quality they showed during the selection period. Scrappers
Cove reserves the right to terminate any contract or
relationship with the designer if expectations are not met
